Hello,

Vitamin D helps the body use calcium. Calcium can't build bones without vitamin D. It is found naturally in tuna fish, liver, and fish liver oils, but more and more products are fortified with vitamin D, like milk and some yogurt, cereal, and tofu.

Sunlight is also a source of vitamin D. But sunscreen blocks your skin's ability to make Vitamin D so you need to spend some time in the sun without sun screen to get enough Vitamin D.

How much time in the sun you need depends on where you live and how much pigment your skin has. The farther you live from the equator, the more time needed for your body to make Vitamin D. Also, the lighter your skin the less time you need in the sun.

Best wishes to you!
