And the walls came tumbling down – - -

Posted Nov 17 2012 9:39pm

I was shell shocked to learn Wayne would be transferred to a care home which provides for residents with tendencies to “exhibit violent behavior”.

Wayne cannot tolerate outbursts of noise and reacted by punching the person making the noise. I was totally upset to hear this of a peace loving, gentle man. It is not acceptable and after several incidents, the powers told me he would be transferred. (Back to the hour long drive!)

Anyway, if they adjust his meds and he does not exhibit this behavior he will be returned to the care home 22 minutes away from me – fingers crossed!

Happily, I can report he is very content and comfortable at his new home and only fussed when they do personal care. They told me that most residents do protest.

He has been off Aricept for several months now and talks a blue streak! He used to just kind of answer yes or no but now he chatters away – some days the sentences are kind of mixed up and he is recalling events from the past but I’m delighted.

Hope all is well in my friends” worlds – ours could be much worse.
