Year 4

4 Years

We had our share of ups and downs these last 4 years, but through it all we are thankful to be where we are now. The images of this day 4 years ago are still painfully vivid in our minds. Hearing those fateful words from the oncologist, “Jaylon has leukemia” still haunts us to this day. This year in particular had the high emotions of finishing treatment in March, but then it all crashed down with the news of a relapse in June.

Jaylon has been knocked back down a couple of notches, but he’s already started a rally by achieving remission this past August. He’s making great progress and continues to have a terrific attitude to boot. The City of Hope has done a tremendous job treating Jaylon. We are grateful to the doctors and nurses for their dedication and labor in healing Jaylon and other patients like him. His journey has been extended for 2 more years.

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the support and love from Jaylon’s grandparents: Lola, Lolo, Yen-Yen, and Yeh-Yeh. It goes without saying his big brother Aaron, little sister Mandy, and little brother Brandon give their unconditional love. A shout out goes to Auntie Jeannie, Christie, Annabelle, Uncle Greg, Ron and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins for their visits.  Jaylon has a bigger than life network of friends to thank as well. Thank you to all teachers, coaches, classmates, teammates, blood donors, fans, and friends. We love you all. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
