My mother had surgery for a tumor on her kidney some years ago. The tumor was not cancer. She recently presented with scapular pain and had an xray. Her doctor called and said that the xray showed secondary bone cancer from kidney cancer that has metasticized and the prognosis is very poor.
Could there be other reasons for a growth below the scapula in an older woman who has has osteoperosis and taken various medications to increase bone mass?
