From my own experience, unless the mass is really big you usually won't even know it's there. I never noticed any pain at all in that area when I had the tumors on both of my glands. Again though, that was my own experience.

 It is definitely something to tell your doctor about though because each of us are different and its important to make sure you're not going through unneccessary pain. :)
