i just had a total thyroidectomy on monday 12/21. my calcium levels were a "little Low" upon discharge. i think i have very faint tingling in my fingers. my doc told me to take tums and prescribed calcitrol. i've been taking both (several hours after my synthroid), and eating/drinking calcium rich foods. is it possible to get too much calcium? are there symptoms related to this? i just cooked dinner, and while cooking i felt slightly light headed. also, my bowel movements have been hard and yellow. i'm just wondering if these symptons are related to the surgery, or just in my head.
