I have symptoms very similar to rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and back. I'm pretty sure that it is all associated with graft verses host disease (GVHD). A blood test would be needed to diagnose it as RA. You can see that there is a small amount of swelling in my hands and wrists. It isn't very painful at this point, but it does hurt to make a fist and bend my wrists to the full travel limits. Sometimes they get stiff and hurt a little bit. When my back hurts, I lay down and it usually gets better after a while. I'm tough! It's not a big deal, but I just wanted you to know that I'm not perfect. Did I just say that I'm not perfect? Ha! Ha! Like you didn't already know that! ;-) You may also notice that there are a few scratches on my skin. I think that my skin has gotten thinner and my skull a little thicker. (if that were possible?) Ha! Ha! I get thrush occasionally too. My mouth gets dry when that happens.
How have you been doing? I wonder about you often. Some of you, I know very well, but some of you, I don't even have a clue about. I like the connection we have though. I get to share my thoughts with you and hopefully, I can encourage you.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 (New International Version)
