Putting the victory dance on hold

Posted Dec 04 2009 11:46am
I'm not sure how the results will end here, so I dare not do my dance of victory yet. About 2 weeks ago I called Northern Human Services, and by their conversation I could tell I was getting nowhere with them. Nothing was said about an increase in his medicaid waiver, so he could stay at Rose Meadow Garden long term. As I stated in my recent blog, I don't understand all this legal jargon, so I had no clue that I was supposed to actually make an official request for this increase. So upon the advice of others I called the Ombudsman program and Disability Rights.

Well both agencies, must of contacted Northern Human Services. Because the next conversation I had with them, they informed me that they had put in the medicaid increase request. And they thought there should be no problem with Jeff staying at Rose Meadow long term. What a change of heart they suddenly had!? I don't think Northern Human Services, likes having other agencies looking over their shoulders.

However considering how things have gone with them in the past, I will not believe it until it's final.

As for my health well that's a different story, as I don't see a victory dance in the future.
