Mmmmm … day one of detox

Juice concotion #1

Day one of the detox program. Sorry about the boring details but I am trying to document almost everything about this whole journey and this is just another step.

Breakfast: Cup of Nature’s Promise green decaf organic tea with organic wildflower honey. So good.

Juice blend: 5 or 6 small apples, a few slices of grapefruit. After juicing I threw the juice into our blender and added a tablespoon of Jarrow Goat Protein, two teaspoons of fiber, and a splash of orange juice.

After drinking this tasty concoction, I took my vitamin cocktail that includes a Whole Foods daily vitamin, a Whole Foods Vitamin C with a Greens Plus supplement, which helps the body absorb Vitamin C more efficiently. The Vitamin C/Greens Plus combo, by the way, I take three times daily. I also took an organic Oregon’s Wild Harvest Milk Thistle supplement (also three times a day) to promote liver support. Add to this some Zinc, some Calcium/Magnesium, some Echinecea, and some acidophilus and there is the morning cocktail. I used to take many more antioxidants such as Green Tea extract, Coenzyme Q10, and others but my docs at the HDIL2 program told me that if you have cancer in the body already, these antioxidants can make your cancer cells stronger and more resistant to suicide during treatment. So, I stopped the antioxidants and will wait until after therapy to see if I start them up again.

More thrilling diet commentary to come, including my recipe for Johanna Budwig’s flaxseed muesli.
