Is there an alternative treatment available for prostate cancer, other than Zoladex?

Posted by Jane

My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June2005. He is now 85 years old and has been on Zoladex injections for 4 and a half years. These are given every 3 months. Since the beginning of his treatment he has become very breathless on any exertion. He is fine while sat but the moment he moves he finds breathing difficult. Is this breathlessness a side effect of the drug? I have asked the consultant at our hospital who could not give any satisfactory answer. Our G.P. just evades any mention of the breathlessness.

Symptoms of an allergic reaction to Zoladex include: breathing difficulty, skin rash, hives, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Voice your concerns to his doctor that he maybe having a allergic reaction to this drug.
