II. What Thalidomide Gave Us

Posted Jan 14 2009 8:36pm

The next year went by quickly. Richard was still teaching and I was still working in Tama. We took a series of short vacations in Iowa. We saw among others, the Loess Hills, the Sergeant Floyd Monument,Lincoln's Home in Springfield, IL, and the Mississippi River Museum in Dubuque, IA. We took a bus trip to Chicago, went sightseeing, and of course, to a Cubs Game. Here we are on an observation tower in the Loess Hills in Western Iowa. It was a beautiful day.

Here's Richard at the Sears Tower with Lake Michigan in the background. And I'm sure you recognize Wrigley Field and the historic scoreboard.

Other significant happenings in 2004 included the birth of our grandson Nathan on September 25. Sister Sarah was so proud!

Again, I just have to say again that without thalidomide all these great times would not have been possible.
