Yes I got bladder cancer. It was discovered 3 years ago in June 06, and it was a terrifying experience for sure.
I was driving and working then and had a big haul of packages to take up a set of stairs. I placed the pkgs on my wheeler and started pulling them up. After this breathtaking event, I went to the bathroom.
Blood came out with the urine. Good grief man, that looked weird, and at first I did not understand what I was seeing. So, after that day I made an appt with the company doctor thinking I had injured myself hauling the pkgs up the stairs.
He was kind but told me the blood had nothing to do with the work, and he recommended I see a urologist. I made the appt and guess what? A CT Scan revealed a small tumor in my bladder.
The simple truth is that if I had not agitated that tumor and made it bleed, it might have grown to a size that would have made it inoperable. Men who get to that point often lose the bladder, or worse.
My urologist told me it was cancer and that it had to be removed. We scheduled the surgery and he took it out, and it was fortunately very small, about 1/2 the size of a little finger. I was lucky.
They did a chemo wash on it, which was no biggy for me. Didn't hurt but they wore gloves because the chemo is volitile if it touches the skin. After that I started a series of follow up visits.
In the 3 years since I have been clear of any further cancer, or tumors, or any abnormalities thank goodness. I did take vitamins of course, but to insure my future health I also took some herbals.
I just had my latest cyctoscopy, and again was clear of any visible signs of cancer. Sure happy about that but the doctor told me that I need to be seen every year for life now. I asked him when it might happen again, and he just said "maybe never, but often men see it again after 6 or 7 years from the onset".
So preventative herbs are now my focus. I have been taking some products I got from Native Remedies, but I intend now to focus on more products to build up my system and hopefully beat back any recurrance of that cancer.
Native Remedies suggested and information include:
Conventional treatments for cancer have come a long way over the last few years, and while they can be very effective, their side effects and consequences are often very harsh and they can even have a detrimental effect on the health of the rest of the body.
For this reason, many people are exploring natural remedies as a holistic approach to preventing and treating cancer along-side conventional methods.
There are a number of herbal ingredients that have been used successfully in both the prevention and the treatment of cancer. These include Sutherlandia frutescens (Cancer Bush), Indian ginseng, Turmeric and Mistletoe, all of which are known for their ant-tumor or anti-oxidant properties.
In addition, herbal ingredients can be used to help boost the immune system after harsh conventional treatments. Natural ingredients that strengthen the immune system can also help the body to fight against the development of cancer cells before they become a problem. Olea europea (extract of Olive leaf) and Echinacea purpurea are two well known herbal ingredients that can be taken to strengthen the immune system and help the body fight off infection and illness.
So there it is, my cancer post. If there is any change in the future I will hop in here and update the information. It is the healthy life for me, and has been anyway since it was discovered, from now on.
