After 2 weeks of being misdiagnosed with massive herpes outbreak of the mouth, it appears my husband has oral GVHD (which I FOUND on the internet). He's been on Foscarnet I.V. for 2 weeks. Although his immunosuppressive oral drugs were increased, nothing has been done about the continuing massive sores now completely covering his lips. Does anyone know of a topical oral drug that would be helpful? I've found a couple online but just wanted to know if anyone has first-hand experience with this problem? Still trying to find out how to address this subject with the oncologist and infectious disease doctor without losing my temper.
