So... the oral antihistamine and steroids have been doing a pretty good job. Yesterday I was pretty rash-free, and although I woke up with some angry redness on my arms, it faded as the day went on. Face swelling had completely disappeared, as you can see from this photo of me and my Auntie Susan, taken outside the Henry VIII exhibition at the British Library yesterday:
(It was a fabulous exhibition, by the way. Those old books and manuscripts are just breathtaking. and there's even a love letter from Henry to Anne Boleyn, and the writing desk it was probably written from, covered in gold Hs and Ks.... he was such a cad!)
I was itchy when I went to bed last night, but woke up with the rash re-emerged with new vigour. It's especially bad on my arms -
But my face is showing a bit of redness too, around my left eye.
I really think enough is enough. Now that I'm over the scary bit, frankly, I don't have the energy for minor disfigurements and skin irritation. Realistically, though, I guess there's an awful lot of 'stuff' in my system that is just working its way out.... I suppose I'll just have to do that 'being patient' thing again, that I've never quite mastered. Maybe this time....
