Could a burning sensation (not pain as such) on my left side at the bottom of my rib cage be indicative of lung disease

I experience burning soreness on the left hand side of my rib cage (almost between the 2nd last and last rib).  These pains (not severe) manifest a few times every day and seem to occure on sporadic basis i.e. not whilst doing anything in particular.
