The last of the Chilean miners was safely rescued about an hour ago. As they emerged from the capsule, they fell on their knees in prayer, praising God. I believe in the days to come, we will learn just how much their faith sustained them. We have all ready heard from the youngest miner, 19-year old Jimmy Sanchez. He set the media straight: There were 34 of them in the small 600-foot chamber the past two months. "God was with us. He never left us." Alleluia! I am also thankful that our church has extended a call for a new pastor. We met him and his wife on Sunday. They seem like a good fit. Ron continues to feel well; very few side effects. He has a Cat Scan next Tuesday. Then the following day we'll travel to a regional cancer center to see the Colon Cancer specialist again. I am thankful for the technology that allows this doctor, miles away, to communicate with Ron's Oncologist and get test results in a timely manner. Another blessing is our daughter's job. She is away at college and has been looking for work several weeks. Not only did she find part-time work, its in her career field! I am also rejoicing in the great weather we've been having. There's been some morning fog but lovely sunshine in the afternoon. The leaves are turning color... everything is just beautiful! Finally, I give thanks for our new car. It has great gas mileage and is fun to drive. I really appreciate the reliablity. |
