Our friend Aiden and his family need especial prayers today. Aiden and his family came to St. Jude at a time when I needed some extra support, and his mother Amanda became like a sister to me, making me feel loved, supported and encouraged; keeping me positive and being such a cheerleader for our babies.
Another mother whose son Connor has AT/RT shared this special prayer from a prayer card at Lourdes with me, and I hope that everyone joins me in praying it for all the babies and especially Aiden, today:
"O Holy Virgin, in the midst of your days of glory, do not forget the sorrows of this earth. Cast a merciful glance upon those who are suffering, struggling against difficulties, with their lips constantly pressed against life's bitter cup. Have pity on those who love each other and are separated. Have pity on our rebellious hearts. Have pity on our weak faith. Have pity on those we love. Have pity on those who weep, on those who pray, on those who fear. Grant hope and peace to all. Amen"
During our battle, I realized that the children I have met (or know through the community) with this horrible cancer are some of the BRAVEST, best, sweetest, most wonderful children. Vivienne, Aiden, Gabriel, Diesel and all of these babies are so very special. I pray constantly not just for Vivienne's health and peace, but for theirs as well. The world is a BETTER PLACE for their being in it.
