a report that one needs a pet scan to see what the swelling of the lymph nodes in the chest area always mean one has cancer?

Posted by cathydiane

last november dad started chemo for non hodgkins lymphoma and finished in April, (then they said he had 3 anuerisms they had been watching and fixed them) just within the last 2 months he had the shingles and gout.

So last week he had a follow up cat scan for the cancer, and they just called and said the nodes in the chest area were swollen and they wanted a pet scan.  can this be related to virus that caused the shingles, or can it be something else than the cancer coming back?
