A Beagle For President :)

Posted Sep 11 2008 2:05am
Yes, I have gone off my rocker officially - I am considering writing in either Snoopy or my Shannon for President. When you consider what our current choices are - I think a Beagle would be perfect. They can sniff out corruption and take a bite out of it - and my Shannon is very diplomatic - could unite the party lines of Repuplicans and Democats. She won't be swayed by lobbyists trying to buy her off with kibbles and treats. Yes, a Beagle might be a fine choice. If voting for Snoopy, we get Woodstock as Vice President. If voting for Shannon, we get Annie as Vice President. Either way you can't go wrong.

I have been inindated with letters asking who I am voting for. I don't know - but I can tell you that it won't be McCain and it won't be Obama. I have my issues with both - and considering the electoral votes are going to be the deciding factor - then why should I even bother voting for President? Better yet - I will just write in a Beagle.......

Choosing a President now and days is pretty darn tough. What I hate the most is the political mud slinging. Yes, it is natural to point out your opponents faults - but come on. Enough is enough....stick to the issues at hand. I have officially tuned out what McCain, Palin and Obama are saying. As for Biden, I wasn't listening to begin with.

This is sad.......my son is now old enough to vote........and this would be the first Presidential Election that he can vote in. I don't even know if he is registered to vote. I want to explain the importance of all this to him........but I refuse to clue him into my thought process regarding this election. I am disgusted with politics - but I don't want to cloud his first shining moment of casting his vote. He is 18 - he hasn't experienced enough life yet to be jaded. By keeping my opinions to myself about politics - I am saving him the hassle of being disillusioned right off the bat as well as thinking his mother is a loon :)

That ends my public rhetoric regarding politics. My yahoo mailbox only holds so many letters and it got filled up pretty quick the past few days. Besides, I am too focused on finding a job in this crappy economy. I racked up a $46,000 college loan bill and can't even find a job in my profession at the moment. Something's gotta give........economy, unemployment, medical care....the list goes on and on. When you go to vote on November 4th - choose wisely.

Better yet - if you can show me a candidate that can guarantee that the next time I am told that my kidney should come out, that I would receive treatment, then I would probably vote for him. My biggest concern is keeping the rent and utilities paid, food on the table, gas in the truck and some hope of medical treatment in my future.

The only thing that sucks more than cancer is not having the means to get treatment.
