Hi! My name is Caitlin and I'm 25. I currently live in New York with my husband Nate and my puppy Buddy.
As a junior in college I decided to do a 5k with a friend. Before this decision, I ran sporadically – never more than 3 miles, and never competitively. I started training, joined Weight Watchers and radically changed the way I ate, and ended up losing over 40 pounds. After the first 5k, I trained for my first half marathon, and have done 3 more. I recently trained for and ran my first marathon in November 2010 and am running my second marathon in October 2011.
The year I started running, I also started looking food differently – considering what it could do for me and how it could improve my life and make me feel, as opposed to just eating whatever tasted good. That being said, I still want my food to taste good, and I attempt to make healthy, delicious, balanced, whole food based meals whenever possible. I am currently mostly vegetarian (though I still eat fish occasionally).
I started my blog as a way to share things that are important to me - living well, being active and eating delicious, healthy foods.
