Why we don't have a cure for cancer? Octuplets, Botox and Boner Pills

Posted Feb 03 2009 1:00am
I respect people's choices and expect them to respect mine but every now and then I reach my limit. This week has been the perfect storm.

The woman in California who had octuplets already has six children under age 7. WTF?

Botox can cause birth defects. Is it shocking to anyone that injecting a toxin could be problematic?

There's another boner pill in the pipeline currently in Phase II clinical trials.

At the same time cuts are being made to medical care for the poor, hospitals are charging 18 percent interest and people are choosing between paying for their prescriptions or other necessities like heat. There are millions of people in this country who do not have health care and this number continues to increase.

No one seems to question the idea that maybe great grandpa doesn't need another pill to get a woody if grandma can't afford her heart medication. And pregnant women getting Botox, forget it. I don't even know what to say to someone who thinks it's acceptable to have 14 children under the age of 7 by choice. Personally, I think she needs a good psych workup. I don't think I want whatever quack inseminated her searching for the cure for cancer but I'd sure as hell like to see the resources that are being used go toward it.

Thanks, I feel better now. Maybe it's just me. what do you think?
