What is this lump on my right breast?

I am 27 years old and I noticed a small hard lump on my right breast. It's a small lump. I noticed it in the beginning of January 2009. I had my period and it's still there, but I notice where the lump is located my breast is sore. What could it be?

I would make an appointment with my gynecologist right away to have the lump checked out. There is no valid reason to wait. I'm sorry if I my suggestion scares you however you will continue to worry about this lump until you have it checked out so please make an appointment immediately.
