I feel like I’m getting in the swing of things after a frantically busy Pink-tober, then planning and executing my little Indy tour. Whew! In the midst of the madness that was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I received a big treat. My friend Allyson Rabkin, a wardrobe consultant and fashion-maven extraordinaire, took me out shopping.
This was not your ordinary shopping trip; Allyson took me to a Fourth Street Boutique in downtown Cincinnati where you can find high-fashion clothes for dirt-cheap prices. Allyson found some wonderful outfits for me, bringing hanger upon hanger of them to my dressing room. She helped me find a Talbot’s jacket that was in mint condition for $3 and another one that still had the price tag on it ($129) that I purchased for just $12.
Usually when I shop with someone, it’s “everyone fends for themselves.” But Allyson catered to me like a princess, and I walked out with a professional wardrobe for about the cost of one item in a department store.
You see, Allyson loves to help people and thought I could use a lift. She usually charges $75 per hour, but my three hours were perfectly free. Allyson asked me if I knew of some other cancer survivors who could use some pampering. Of course I thought of all of you.
So here’s the deal: If you are a survivor and live in the Cincinnati area (or willing to travel here), you can enter my Shop Without Having to Drop contest.
Allyson said she’ll take you to any store(s) you’d like. She’ll even pick you up and drive you there so you don’t have to hassle with traffic and parking (no worries; she’s bonded and insured). If you’re not up to shopping, Allyson can do a closet consultation and shop for you. Allyson’s services are free; the cost of your purchases are on you… but Allyson will lead you to all the great deals! All you have to do is:
