Meditating at night is my favorite way to relax so I can fall asleep. To help me meditate, I play my singing bowl. It keeps me focused and adds an aural element that is beautiful and soothing. Some nights, when I may be even too tired to play my singing bowl, I listen to chanting. In our music collection we have several minutes of chanting by a group of Buddhist monks. Although ambient music is great for relaxing, too, for some reason for meditation and falling asleep, the chanting sounds like it’s coming straight out of heaven. It’s beautiful and soothing and conducive to meditating.
Chanting can vary a lot. It’s probably best to listen to a variety of chanting before you choose anything to play for your own relaxation or meditation. Here is one with children chanting that I find quite pleasing. Youtube has quite a few; you might start there to get an idea of what works for you.
