I received and email and became overwrought with emotion. I was charged with making an impact so that others have a chance for life. Suddenly I have realized all that comes with being a delegate at the Livestrong Summit at the end of the month. It is about giving a voice to those who cannot speak.
It is aboutHarrisonwho kept believing in the unbelievable right up to his death. I am going for him - for Gina and Mike. I want to speak for this little boy who can no longer speak about neuroblastoma. I do not want another mother to have to see her child succumb to cancer. Gina posted on Harrison’s site at Mothers Day:
It’s hard to believe that Mother’s Day is almost upon us and my sweet Harrison has been gone almost 3 months. There are days when I wake-up and it still does not seem real, like something I dreamed might happen but was too horrible in every way to really happen. But it did, and we are still here and he is not…
I want to learn more about action so patients like Ellen and Marilyn - who are new to this disease - can have more than just a fighting chance…they need toknowthey will survive. I think of the families affected by a diagnosis and the fear they feel. They need to know that someone is taking action towards a cure.
The second summit is in just weeks…take a look at the opening of the inaugural summit.

For all of the people I know who have been touched by cancer - and for those I do not know - you can count on me to make a difference. You can count on me to be a voice in the 1000 for you.
