Connecting Survivor to Survivor
MyPinkPlanner.com brings breast cancer survivors peace of mind so they can heal.
KANSAS CITY, Mo – What would you do if you learned you had cancer?
Who would care for your family? Who would help you run errands? Who would cook your family’s meals while you heal?
Those questions are now answered on a website called My Pink Planner created by a breast cancer survivor. My Pink Planner is an online calendar that allows friends and loved ones to sign-up to help a survivor keep her family life on track.
Dolores Kitchin is a cancer survivor since 2004, and developed the website to organize friends and family to cook meals, carpool her son and clean her house while she underwent chemotherapy and radiation.
“MyPinkPlanner allowed me to concentrate on healing. I had so many friends and family who wanted to help us. I thought, why not create schedule on the internet? My friends could see what needs we had, and sign-up for them right from their own computer,” said Kitchin.
MyPinkPlanner is a website where a survivor picks a date and assigns the needs her family has on that day. Then she e-mails her network of friends a link to her site where they register to help when they can.
“I used MyPinkPlanner while I was healing. It helped my family and me. It can help you, too,” says Kitchin.
My Pink Planner is offered free to survivors. If you would like to donate to keep this a free service, contact
