I have 2 lumps in my right breast

Posted by jellybean

Hi!

In November 08 I discovered a lump in my right breast when in the shower I went to my doctor who referred me to the consultant, the lump wasn't sore, the consultant examined me then I had a mamaogram (which they said was ok) and an Ultrasound, they said its proberbly your glands, just keep an eye on it, any change then come back.

3/4 months passed I didn't think about it but in May I started to get pain in my right breast(on the side of my breast), the lump has increased insize slightly but I have also developed one more lump above the nipple (outside the edging).  My Doctor said he can still feel the lumps so referred me back to the Consultant.  I just had my appointment July 1st 09.

The consultant examined me, she then pulled out my old notes and noticed a change in my right breast, that it had become more dense and lumpy.  My left breast has nothing.  I kept stressing that throughout the day I get a pulsating pain coming from my right breast, even sometimes under the armpit.  The consultant decided to do another mamogram.  I did actually say to the consultant that because I am 38 and my breast has a high density, is the mamogam suffice.  She said yes.  I then had my mamagram and after 15mins was told by the nurse that it was nothing to worry about and everything is fine.

I am totally bewildered.  Both sides of my family is riddled with cancer, my grandmother had her breast and part of her arm removed and then died of cancer.  All I know is they say you know when something is not quite right when your body keeps telling you, I have these lumps and ongoing pain which is bearable, but tiring, annoying and draining.

Please help, I have heard so many stories of people being misdiagnoised, ultrasounds and mamograms being mis-interpreted, any advice or guidance on this matter would be much appreciated.

I don't know if this has any bearing but 4 years ago I had laser treatment to remove pre-cancerous cells in my cervix (all-clear now). I am overdue by 6months but will be making an appointment.

I look forward to hearing from you.

kind regards

Jellybean
