Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT...

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) has been a hotly debated topic. Though, I have not reached the age to consider HRT - I keep up on the controversy as I may one day face the decision to take, or not to take.
During a breast cancer discussion a very respected doctor made a comment “we have medicalized a natural occurrence in women.” He went on to note there are cultures that celebrate the transition of a woman. Of course, he is a man who has never experienced the issues of menopause! I do agree with him at the moment, but know my feelings may change when I hit menopause. I’ve heard of women who literally have such major difficulties they begin to mentally suffer. Nevertheless, I do have to wonder what women did before HRT became a huge option?
Below are two really great articles about HRT - you be the judge. Remember to openly discuss all health concerns with your physician. Together you can come up with treatments to best suit you.

I would strongly enourage women to choose other options than hormone replacement therapy.  Not only is there is risk of hormonally receptive cancer but there is new research showing decreased brain volume associated with HRT as well.
Bioidentical is different.   Check it out.  Definitely avoid the ones based on horse urine.   Synthetics that are not natural for humans.
