Today’s prompt: What is the theme song of your health focus or blog?
Since first watching The Sound of Music at a drive-in theater (what are those?) with my parents in the late sixties, I couldn’t get enough of the raw beauty of the scenery and the amazing soundtrack. So when today’s prompt appeared, I knew I would pick a song from that musical. And my favorite is not My Favorite Things, but Climb Every Mountain.
Climb every mountain, Search high and low, Follow every byway, Every path you know.
Climb every mountain, Ford every stream, Follow every rainbow, ‘Till you find your dream.
A dream that will need All the love you can give, Every day of your life For as long as you live.
Climb every mountain, Ford every stream, Follow every rainbow, Till you find your dream
A dream that will need All the love you can give, Every day of your life, For as long as you live.
Climb every mountain, Ford every stream, Follow every rainbow, Till you find your dream.
The lyrics challenge me to explore all of the highways and byways that weave their way through the “healthscape” of our existence. In this search I’m determined to realize my dream of using my lymphedema arm to reach up, grab hold of ladder ropes, and pull myself out of the abyss of self-pity. Babying it renders it useless. Another dream is not to take no for an answer, but to explore further, forging a new path if necessary. And as I uncover more dreams that lurked in my consciousness and now surface to surprise me, I intend to use them to help others find theirs.
What’s your favorite song? Do you have a theme song? What dreams have you found as you’ve made your way through the maze called health?
