Gallbladder Gone *******

Posted Jul 06 2010 6:23pm
The surgery went just fine but the NAUSEA afterwards was enough to knock over a ship!

Worse Case of nausea above and beyond chemo nausea. BAD.

The kicker is the anaesthesiologist gave me a lot of stuff to keep it at bay like Prilosec, Emend, Zofran and something else I forget. As soon as I sat up to get dressed the nausea started and by the time I got home it was ugly. I was motionless. If I opened an eye or said one word the waves drowned me.

After several hours of Hell Steve went to Rite-Aid and picked up some Zofran and scopolamine patches . (Don't know why I didn't think of that before as it has helped in the past.)

Finally R-E-L-I-E-F!

Today is the first day without the patch. I have a lingering shadow of stomach upset that is bearable. I also have big red welts left from where the patch was on my skin. I have to cover them in all kinds of anti-itch creams or I would go crazy itching. It will take about a week for them to go away. I recommend moving the patch each day to a new spot for 3 days. Then start over with a new patch.

I also had a liver biopsy which I will explain at a later date. One thing at a time.

I think my body has had enough anesthesia and surgeries. It is rebelling. NO MORE.

I agree.

Tomorrow I go back to work.

I am doing better each new day.

(Now if I could just have a bowel movement) LOL - It has been a week.

Life is Good {without nausea}
