Could a sore lump above the right breast be cause by lymph nodes?

My wife and i just found out that we are going to have our first baby together.  He nipples and boobs were and are sore, we believe that it is due to the new pregnancy.  However today when showering my wife informed me that she felt a lump just above her right breast and that it is very tender and sore.  Now today we ran a triathlon and I don't know if that could have something to do with it.  We are just wondering if it could be a lymph node or possible something worse
