Cancer poem challenge

Posted Feb 21 2009 11:16pm
So I was challenged to write a poem. I barely consider myself a writer so poetry, not so much. But anyway I did it and here it is. Try not to laugh too hard. I'll let you all know if Hallmark calls.

I was 38 years old
Never sicker than a cold
Found a bump, a lump a spot,
Cancer dear is what you've got
Off with the boobs
My knees were shakin'
Out with the tubes
No more babies I'm makin'
12 Chemos were an awful slap
Radiation a brutal zap
Then I learned I had sisters,
Mothers, fathers, Miss and Misters
All who had the the same damn thing
Fighting harder than anything
So I'll keep blogging about cancer
Until we have a friggin' answer

So have you got one? Why not leave a poem in the comments for everyone else to read?
