Breast cancer awareness activities often seem to forget that men get breast cancer too.
Mike Partain has been working for a long time to help men like him, men who were based at Camp Lejeune who have developed breast cancer. It looks like he may have hit critical mass. There have been dozens of news reports in just the past few weeks.
CNN has a video and articles. North Carolina Senator Kay Hagan is on the record saying "I think they have worked their entire careers, successfully completing the mission that they were asked to start. And I think it should be our mission to give them complete answers on the water contamination issues. And if we stop now, our mission will not be accomplished".
North Carolina's other Senator, Richard Burr has proposed a bill addressing the water contamination at Camp Lejeune. I can't stand Senator Burr but I have to give him credit for pushing this forward.
If you were stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC between the 1960's and the 1980's and want more information check out Mike's site, The Few, The Proud, The Forgotten for the most recent informaiton.
