How brave are you? Really? I've been known to step outside my comfort zone on more than one occasion. But I have my limits and Evelyn Satterlee has gone FAR beyond anything I would have considered. She has a friend who is a painter, Heath Rosselli and sat for a portrait. Sounds like a simple thing until you look at the portrait.
This portrait has been shown in a variety of places and is now being shown at the Louvre as part of an installation called 'The Art of Oncology".
Did you know that the Louvre has 7 million visitors a day! My scars are something that I am still growing comfortable with and while I derive a strange kind of pride from them they are not something that I would consider sharing with 7 million people. I've always thought that one of the positives of having had breast surgery is that my scars are not in public view.
What about you? What is your comfort level with your scars? Are they visible to the world or just to those that you invite into it?
