I didn't mean to-really! Yesterday when I went out to buy groceries to try to shed some of these unwanted pounds- I realized I needed a new pan. Knowing I only needed a pan to cook eggbeaters- I bought a cheap teflon pan.
Now, I know this was wrong. I have read over and over again about the dangers of
teflon - but just wanted an easy, cheap pan to help me get through a rough patch.
This morning I cleaned my new pan, then set it up on the oven. Immediately, smoke began bellowing off of the pan, and a scorched area appeared on the side of the circle area. I was mad-more at myself than anything.
First, I knew better than to buy cheap! It is always better to buy a good hardy pan that will last than a piece of crap from Walmart.
Second, I have read about teflon and knew the problems that it can cause.
I guess I was just looking for the easy way out!
Perhaps, though, the reason is more complex than this. Could it be that I didn't want to eat eggs this morning, but instead wanted a BLT, with white bread, mayo and butter?
Could it be that I don't like to wash a pan until my arms fall off and want a smooth ride after eating.
I don't know for sure. All I do know is that now I have a burned pan I can't use and unless I don't want to make use of all the eggbeaters in the fridge- I will just have to buy a new one.
