I was in an acident hit 70 miles per hour from behind and sent the car 400 feet. I remember some the first 2 months just slept. I feel that was normal with the confusion and forgetfullness. year later I have what "I" can a black sleep. No one understands. I get so exhausted that I have to make it to a safe place and then go asleep. It is "not a nap" I am not aware of anything. Maybe it is a nap, but I wake up and I am confused to everything, time, length of nap? is 3-8 hours. I am disoriented for 20 minutes or more. I feel that it is just the brain healing, but no one says that. No one seems to understand what this is. Is it just due to the TBI. The TBE was "mild" MRI showed nothing. Brief loss of consciousness. Rememeber accident. What is this, I can always make it to a safe place when I feel exhausted. Some times a McDonalds while driving, or I can get home if close enough and sleep inside the house. unually the bed, sometimes only to the floor inside the house.
If you can't help me, or want to look at me strange as other doctors do, that is fine. You can say it is due to the TBI healing. I will accept that. But no one says anything. I just say it is a BLack Sleep, my own term, and they have a puzzled look on their faces. They are great doctors. How do I help them understand what I am experiencing.
Maybe it is just exhaustion. I have not noticed any pattern. Thought is was due to not resting enough between activities.
