The end has come! My city has passed an ordinance to eliminate smoking in all public places, even bars!!! One of the local barkeeps stated he will now be required to call the police if he sees a patron start to light up! Of course, the man 0r woman will be led away in handcuffs for all the world to see! One of the council members tried to get a grandfather clause amendment so that old pubs could keep their smoking status while new bars would have to comply with the no smoking rules - this was voted down as the councilmen stated it would be too hard to enforce!
