I am one of the persons featured in the book, Proud Hands , an inspiring compilation of 28 personal stories by people who live by the credo, "I have Parkinson's disease but it doesn't have me!" While some days I live by this credo, other days Parkinson’s disease definitely has me.

Parkinson's disease (PD) affects many areas of a person's daily living, but does not need to become the whole story of a person's life. That is why Teva Neuroscience and the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) have partnered to showcase the many inspirational things people living with PD accomplish every day.

Sponsored by Teva Neuroscience, and distributed by the APDA, Proud Hands is filled with personal photos and stories from people across the nation sharing messages of hope and encouragement. The coffee table book is a unique collection from people with diverse backgrounds and ages.

My husband, Tom, and I will be attending the launching of this amazing book as well as participating in the PD Unity Walk in Central Park in New York City on April 26.

Show your proud hands, and join us in celebrating these daily victories by ordering your copy today !

All proceeds from the sale of this book go directly to the APDA to support research, people living with PD, their caregivers and Parkinson's education.
