Mind-Body-Green Word of the Year 2010- Plant-BASED Diet!

Posted Jan 06 2011 6:45am
PLANT- Based diet was listed as the website," Mind-Body-Green's 2010 Word of the Year. In post explaining their choice it was stated that plant –based diet was entered into the lexicon after Bill Clinton talked about his 24 lbs weight loss on a show with Wolf Blitzer. I don't know about any of you, but I have thought that good ole Bill looks pretty sickly lately. HMMM!

Anyway, the article went on to say that people are scared off by the word 'vegan' and plant-based diet is easier to –dare I write it?- digest! HA!

I am trying to reduce my meat intake- it is not easy. I was brought up to believe that really living was having a big steak with butter dripping off of it, and a big baked potato with sour cream and butter, maybe a salad- and well- you get the picture. Although, I rarely eat red meat anymore, or any meat for that matter- I still long for it and can actually find myself salivating towards it, regardless, of the horror stories- the fragrance of a steak grilling in the spring can still bring heaven to mind.

So, for all you vegans out there- plant-based diet won the year 2010!
