Lots Of Twitching Going On....

Posted Jan 16 2011 6:04pm
I forgot to mention something yesterday when I posted.  While I was making the dvds for my friend and having that weird feeling in my neck I was also having hand tremors.  I get them every once in awhile.  I always forget to mention it to my doctors.  My dad gets them too, really bad.  He says the docs told him they are called familiar tremors and that his dad had them too.  They don't seem to think there is anything they can do about it, or dad isn't telling me everything.  I have to try to remember to tell the doc at my next appointment!

Slept pretty good last night, though I did wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, as usual.  And I almost twisted my ankle because I didn't lift my leg up high enough.  Really need to start doing leg exercises.  Had to come back downstairs last night after I had already gone up to go to bed and the second time up the steps was a lot easier so that right there should be motivation in itself.

The knot in my back is almost completely gone, whew!  I need to clean my apartment, get up and get moving, and especially do my laundry!  Didn't want to do the laundry with this knot in my back because I figured it would only make it worse.

Now on to the twitching...  I do have a lot of twitching going on today.  Usually its just my shoulder, but today its also my left forearm and down my leg especially my foot.  The forearm is new, and weird, it feels really weird.  Maybe has to do with the free weight exercises I did yesterday.  Now there is twitching in my bicep.  I need to drink water.  I have not had enough water today.

A friend of mine posted a link on facebook that had this info that I also need to talk to my doc about

15 Most Dangerous Drugs Big Pharma Don't Want You to Know About

November 19, 2010 (Altnet.org)

In the pharmaceutical industry’s rush to get drugs to market, safety usually comes last. Long studies to truly assess a drug's risks just delay profits after all -- and if problems do emerge after medication hits the market, settlements are usually less than profits. Remember, Vioxx still made money.

The following drugs are so plagued with safety problems, it is a wonder they’re on the market at all. It's a testament to Big Pharma's greed and our poor regulatory processes that they are.

Lyrica, Topomax and Lamictal

Why would you take an epilepsy seizure drug for pain? The same reason you'll take an antipsychotic for the blues and an antidepressant for knee pain: good consumer marketing. In August FDA ordered a warning for aseptic meningitis, or brain inflammation, on Lamictal -- but it is still the darling of military and civilian doctors for unapproved pain and migraine. Lamictal also has the distinction of looting $51 million from Medicaid last year despite a generic existing.

All seizure drugs increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors according to their mandated labels. An April article in JAMA found seizure drugs linked to 26 suicides, 801 attempted suicides, and 41 violent deaths in just five years.

All three drugs can make you lose your memory and your hair, say posters on the drug rating site askapatient.com. Topamax is referred to as "Stupamax" in the military -- though evidently not enough to ask, "Why am I taking this drug again?"

I only posted the part that included the seizure med I am taking, Topomax, and I do remember, funny enough when I started taking it I had trouble finding words, it did make me stupid!  So I want off it!  Here are the other drugs listed:

Lipitor and Crestor,Yaz and Yasmin, Humira, Prolia and TNF Blockers, Chantix, and Ambien.
