i was in the er with severe dizziness and tingling in my arm, what could this be, the only explanation i got was vertigo.

I have been having recurring dizziness with a tingling/numbness in my right arm, the only explanation i got was vertigo. The treatment they gave was antivert, which by the way literally makes me sleep all day, with having two small children is nearly almost impossible to do. any thoughts would help.
