I can’t remember how I stumbled across this book, but if you’re interested in reading it, it’s entertaining. If you’re looking to glean information about Parkinson’s disease (which is how some may be misled into into thinking the book is actually about since it is somewhat of a true story in that one of the characters is based on a real person who the author knows with PD), you won’t get much. Read it for the pure pleasure of being entertained and you will be.
Humor, history, and mayhem await the reader of Dutch Island. I was skeptical when I first started reading it, but pleasantly surprised before half way through (or better). It’s a light read and twists and turns throughout. That’s all I’m going to say, except that… even people with PD can be heroes. At least on Dutch Island.
