Hydrocephalus, commonly referred to as “water on the brain” is a lifelong neurological condition, affecting over one million Americans from newborns to seniors. Presently there is no cure. An estimated 40,000 shunt operations are performed each year in this country as standard treatment for this condition. Due to the lack of advancements in these treatment methods, many people with hydrocephalus are unable to lead full and productive lives.
Team Hydrocephalus Detroit, Michigan hosted their first Annual WALK-WHEEL-RUN & Family Fun Day in August of 2007. Our goal is raising awareness, funds for research, and bringing families effected by hydrocephalus together for support. With the help of the Hydrocephalus Association, each year, we are taking steps towards improving the quality of life & finding a cure.
We will be hosting our 3rd Annual WALK-WHEEL-RUN & Family Fun Day August 2,2009. Please join us in this opportunity to help raise Hydrocephalus awareness and funds for research. Detroit Hydrocephalus, would like to invite large and small businesses alike to participate by making monetary and/or in-kind contributions.
Your charitable contribution to this event is 100% tax deductible (federal ID # 94-3000301) to the full extent allowed by law. 100% of the proceeds from this event will directly support the Hydrocephalus Association, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, with the core mission of providing support, education, and advocacy to all people whose lives are touched by Hydrocephalus and directly funding hydrocephalus research.
