Broken toe, foggy mind

Posted Aug 04 2013 11:55am

So, I got up this morning in a big hurry to get things done. I did make good progress, but in the midst of it all, I had some pretty heavy stuff fall on my toe. It was a glancing blow, which is good, but I couldn’t really bend it and I started to get one of those tell-tale bruises that can happen when I break a toe.

I’ve broken my toes before. All the doctors could ever do was tape it up to the next one and wait for it to heal. So, that’s what I did. I don’t have the money for an emergency room visit, and I’m not sure they’d do anything for me anyway. The last time I went in with a concern about having something broken, they just laughed at me and made me feel like I was worrying over nothing.

Screw it. I’ll deal with it myself. If it continues to give me problems, a few days from now, I’ll have it checked. But sitting around in the ER for hours on a day like today… no thanks. My life isn’t in danger, and it could just be a bad bruise.

Time will tell.

In the meantime, life goes on.

I am really foggy and out of it this morning, but still… life goes on, and so must I.
