edward's sydrome (trisomy 18 = 3 sets of chromosome 18 instead of 2) is associated with choroid plexus cyst. Choroid plexus make cerebrospinal fluid-CSF- and hydrocephalus is enlargment of the cavities that contain CSF and there has been a connection between these cysts and hydrocephalus in a 2 year old boy and not just with prepartum polyhydramnios. Edward's is also indirectly associated with congenital cataracts. Micrognathia(small mouth) and malformed ears are symptoms of edward's disease. hope this helps.
