A fellow PwP sent me a link to an interesting blog called Musings of a Distractible Mind – Thoughts of a moderately strange (yet not harmful) primary care physician. This primary care doctor, Dr. Rob, (Dr. Robert Lamberts) actually practices medicine in Augusta, GA. His postings are funny, informative, and can cause a LOT of comments and discussion.
The post to which I was referred is titled, “ A Letter to Patients with Chronic Disease ” and it has a list of 10 suggestions for dealing with doctors and advice for NOT sabotaging your relationship with your doctor/specialist. I thought the comments after his blog were helpful, and also brought pain to the surface as I remembered the disastrous last meeting with the “Parkinson’s Guru in Houston” earlier this Summer. Needless to say, I WON’T be going back to said “Guru” and am even thinking of sending a letter explaining why.
I hope you’ll scroll back up and click on the link to Dr. Rob’s blog. It is refreshing to see that doctors are able to write intelligently! LOL!
