‘Cause everybody’s going to be insecure for a while

… if not forever. The company is changing. The economy is changing. Everything is up for grabs, and nothing is certain anymore. People will naturally be insecure, threatened, worried, fragile, you name it. For some people, this change represents a passing of a way of life they’ve known for 10-15 years. It’s the end of an era. And not everyone knows how to step forward into this new world, this new world of opportunity.
I need to keep this in mind, when I interact with people at work. They’re overworked, underpaid, and their futures are uncertain. Of course they’re going to fall back on ways that feel familiar and comforting to them, no matter how counterproductive they actually are.
People are people.
And I am who and how I am.
“Be more concerned with your character than your reputation”

Thanks for the reminder. Now, off to work.
