Has any research been done relating a possible link between Factor V Leiden and pollutants? My husband grew up in Ponca City, OKahoma, the previous home of Conoco refinery, and he and his brother both have Factor V. I have recently learned that his best friend, who grew up in the same neighborhood, also has it. My husband remembers a "toxic ditch" where old baseballs went to die. I just wondered if anyone knew of research regarding a possible link to Factor V Leiden and possible causes for the mutation.
