Who can I speak with regarding a manic episode I had in which grandiosity (i.e. a special connection to God) was a symptom?

The manic episodeconnection to God was so intense that it led to an addiction of the grandiose experience.  Can anyone relate to this?

Your experience is not unusual in bipolar disorder, but to be brutally honest, that sort of intensity sounds more like your mania ramped up to psychosis.  You should definitely talk to your doctor before it gets out of hand again.

Many bipolar patients enjoy their mania. That's when they feel most alive, however mania can be very dangerous. Who knows what kind of trouble you can get into when you're in that state?  Please don't underestimate the danger in allowing yourself to become manic. Additionally, the inevitable crash afterwards will likely be just as extreme as the high.  I'm sure you are also aware that the longer you are psychotic, the harder it is to come back.

I hope you take steps to get it under control, for your own safety and others.  Good luck to you.

You can look it up on Google. My YouTube channel, bipolarORwakingUP, is the only source on the Internet which explores the deeply spiritual aspects of bipolar disorder.

Hi there.  I have had such experiences of grandiosity, although not of a religious nature and not to the extent of a delusional or psychotic state.  However, you can not become "addicted" to this state.  It is basically a way of Bipolar manifesting itself within your brain and how the Disorder manifests itself purely with some people.  It may crop up with no notice or with a trigger.  It really is very hard to tell as that is the nature of Bipolar.

Indeed, you need to speak to a physician or a medical professional as soon as possible.  I know when in the midst of this type of situation, you are too wrapped up in the feeling of it, but if you can find someone to speak to during it, it is of immense help then, as well.

Take care,

PA
