What do you think? What is needed for your recovery?

Posted Dec 12 2009 11:31am

There is much debate about what is needed to make recovery a reality.  What are the necessary conditions for recovery?  Are there some things that are true for everyone?  What do find particularly helpful to you?  The lack of what results in people getting stuck?  What do you think?

Rate each of the following between 1-10

1-2  irrelevant or no affect

3-5 somewhat helpful

6-8 very helpful

9-10 essential to my recover

  1. counseling
  2. medication
  3. sleep
  4. having fun
  5. accepted by family
  6. someone to trust
  7. support group
  8. friends
  9. understand my issues
  10. job
  11. sense of purpose in life
  12. belief in God
  13. hope
  14. ability to manage my feelings
  15. ability to resolve conflict
  16. making sure no one knows what is wrong with you
  17. self esteem
  18. good nutrition
  19. having fun
  20. prayer
  21. helping and service to others

Are there other things that you would put on the list?  What do your ratings tell you about yourself?  What do they tell you about what you can do to make life better?
